@panoramix kindles never appealed to me either, I've got a first generation Kobo Aura and I'm pretty satisfied with it!

@helena yup, same goes for me. I also prefer small paperback books over hard covers. I've also got tiny hands so huge books are quite a handful haha

@ari true that! new and old books alike smell great :D

@K2 nothing beats logging off with a good book and a cup of tea, in my opinion! :)

@tomharris my favourite has been 'Kom hier dat ik u kus' by Griet op de Beeck, a Flemish author. Not sure whether there's a translation out but the writing and overall story in this one blew me away!

@AgNO3Kate ooh interesting. I also read a lot on my phone, but that's usually news paper articles and such, never books. I have an ereader for novels :) never wanted to invest into an ereader?

@postmodem you never find yourself wanting to highlight something in your books? For my studies I usually buy hardcopy books even though the ebooks are way cheaper

@Stoori definitely the advantage of ebooks in my eyes as well: useful for travelling and the ability to carry them around without any difficulty!

@panoramix awesome! Thanks for your recs! 😊

@panoramix ooh thanks! Never read anything by Gaiman.

Always sucks to have to put a book down because you need to get to essay writing.. luckily I get to reward myself after hitting the 500w wordcount! :D

@quinterbeck I haven't actually! I've always wanted to get into Norse mythology more so this sounds like a good way to start. Thanks :)

@Alizee thanks so much for your recommendation! Sounds like an interesting book :) added it to my to read-list

Started Illuminae yesterday! First thoughts: love the interesting layout and format as it adds another layer of originality to the book.

Anyone got a book recommendation in the genres contemporary fiction, fantasy or young adult?

I always find myself browsing and reading about books instead of actually picking up a book.

I'm also an avid goodreads user, so I'm curious to see how I'm gonna use Mastodon next to GR.

Hi everyone, just trying to figure out Mastodon! Currently reading two books: Stella Gemmel's the City and Illuminae by Kaufman and Kristof.
